Crop Cutting Experiment Conducted in Samastipur, DM Roshan Kushwaha Reviews Wheat Yield Assessment

In Samastipur’s Durlakh Panchayat, District Magistrate Roshan Kushwaha inspected the wheat crop cutting experiment under the Bihar Crop Assistance Scheme. An estimated yield of around 54 quintals per hectare was recorded.
Samastipur / Alam Ki Khabar:In a significant administrative exercise aimed at ensuring accurate agricultural assessment and transparent implementation of government welfare schemes, a wheat crop cutting experiment under the Bihar State Crop Assistance Scheme was inspected today by District Magistrate Roshan Kushwaha in Samastipur district.
The inspection was carried out in Durlakh Panchayat of Samastipur block, under Mauza Durlakh, Police Station No. 186, at Plot/Khesra No. 1125. The crop cutting experiment was conducted strictly as per prescribed agricultural norms to assess the actual yield of the rabi wheat crop in the region.During the inspection, the District Magistrate closely reviewed the entire process and ensured that the experiment was being conducted in a scientific and transparent manner. Crop cutting experiments are an important part of agricultural assessment systems, used to estimate actual yield and determine benefits under government schemes.
The experiment was conducted over a 10x5 meter plot, and after harvesting, the total grain weight recorded was 27.790 kilograms. Based on this measurement, the agriculture department estimated an approximate yield of around 54 quintals per hectare, indicating a reasonably good production level in the area.
Several senior officials were present during the inspection, including the District Statistics Officer Ashok Kumar, District Agriculture Officer Sumit Saurabh, Assistant Statistics Officer Praveen Kumar Jha, Block Development Officer Shubh Prabhat, Block Agriculture Officer Krishna Murari Sinha, Block Statistics Officer Ritesh Kumar, Agriculture Coordinator Haridarshan Chaudhary, Farmer Advisors Vipin Kumar Mahto and Dhirendra Kumar, along with data entry operators and other district and block-level officials.
Officials explained that crop cutting experiments are scientifically designed procedures used to determine the actual productivity of crops in a specific area. These assessments help the government ensure fair distribution of benefits under agricultural assistance schemes and also provide reliable data for future policy planning.
On the occasion, District Magistrate Roshan Kushwaha directed officials to ensure complete accuracy and transparency in the process. He emphasized that agricultural data forms the backbone of rural development planning and must be collected with utmost precision and responsibility.
He also interacted with farmers present at the site and took feedback regarding crop conditions and agricultural challenges. Farmers informed him that wheat production this year is expected to be better due to favorable weather conditions.
Following the inspection, the Agriculture Department stated that a detailed report based on the findings will be prepared and forwarded to the state authorities. This report will play an important role in shaping future agricultural policies and welfare schemes.
The crop cutting experiment thus served not only as an administrative exercise but also as an important scientific process to evaluate the real agricultural output in the region.
