Patna, October 30:
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav launched a sharp attack on the government and the Election Commission on Thursday, accusing them of allowing “open bribery in the name of welfare.”Speaking to reporters in Patna, Yadav alleged that the government was transferring ₹10,000 into women’s bank accounts during the election period to influence voters. “For twenty years, they did nothing — and suddenly, right before the polls, they remember women? This isn’t welfare, this is a vote-buying scheme,” he said.Yadav further claimed that this money was not a gift but a political loan that the government would recover from the people “with interest” after the elections.
Reacting to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s remark that Bihar lacks land for industries, Tejashwi countered,So Bihar doesn’t have land for factories but has votes for Delhi? They want to control Bihar from outside, but Bihar will be led by its own son, not by outsiders.”When asked about Asaduddin Owaisi’s repeated appeals regarding Muslim votes, Tejashwi replied,
We are not interested in divisive politics. Our goal is to move Bihar forward. This is an opportunity to build Bihar — not push it backwards again.Yadav’s comments have stirred the election debate in Bihar, putting both the government’s schemes and the Election Commission’s silence under scrutiny.
