Samastipur — The district administration is all set for a fair and transparent election. District Magistrate Roshan Kushwaha announced in a press conference that 3603 polling booths have been set up across 10 Assembly constituencies, housed in 1762 buildings. The total electorate stands at 29,40,776, including 15.68 lakh male and 13.72 lakh female voters.

Nearly 58,000 personnel are engaged in managing the poll process. Among the booths, 20 are women-managed, 10 model booths, 10 handled by young officers, and 10 run by differently-abled staff — promoting inclusivity and representation.

Voting will be held from 7 AM to 6 PM, and those who reach before 6 PM will be allowed to cast their vote. Voters must carry their EPIC card or any of the 12 approved identity documents.

In a unique move, foreign delegates and ambassadors invited by the Election Commission of India will visit Samastipur to observe the democratic process firsthand.

Every booth will be under live CCTV surveillance, with two cameras installed inside and outside. DM Kushwaha said, “We’ll monitor every booth from the control room to ensure complete transparency.”

Special arrangements have been made for women voters and mobile deposit facilities at all booths. SP Arvind Pratap Singh assured that tight security measures are in place to ensure peaceful polling across the district.
