Samajwadi Party veteran and former UP minister Azam Khan has opted out of the Bihar Assembly Election 2025 campaign, citing security concerns and what he termed as the continuing “Jungle Raj” in the state. Speaking to media in Moradabad, Khan said he regrets not being able to visit Bihar but safety cannot be compromised. “People say there’s Jungle Raj there, and in such an atmosphere, going would be unwise,” he remarked. Azam urged voters to unite for the protection of democracy and humanity instead of falling for emotional slogans or divisive politics. “Those who want to divide you into small pieces must be exposed. Stay united, save the nation,” he said.
Taking a sharp dig at authorities, Azam slammed the incomplete Y-category security provided to him. “If you want to give security, make it complete — half protection means full danger,” he said, adding that mere symbolism won’t work. Khan stressed that his fight isn’t for political power but for restoring law, justice, and human dignity. “We need politics that unites people, not one that fuels division,” he asserted.
Notably, Azam Khan’s name was on the Samajwadi Party’s star campaigner list, but his withdrawal has sparked discussion within political circles about its impact on the party’s campaign strategy in Bihar.
