Samastipur: As repeated complaints emerge about officials ignoring public calls, frustration among the people of Samastipur continues to grow. Residents claim that many administrative officers do not answer calls even in urgent situations, leading to a complete communication breakdown between the public and the civil administration.

Amid this atmosphere of dissatisfaction, Samastipur Superintendent of Police (SP) Arvind Pratap Singh has set a strong example of responsive governance.

Soon after the issue was highlighted in the media, the SP personally contacted the Editor-in-Chief of ‘Alam Ki Khabar,’ Mohammad Alam, and sought a detailed account of the ongoing situation.

During the conversation, SP Arvind Pratap Singh said:
“If there is any complaint related to my department, inform me immediately. In the police department, calls are answered, concerns are heard, and action is taken without delay. Public voices must never be ignored.”

The SP further assured:
“I will raise this matter with the District Magistrate as well. Necessary improvements will be made within the civil administration too.”

His statement reflects a clear understanding that accountability is needed not only in the police force but across all government offices of the district.

Many residents also acknowledge that since SP Singh took charge in Samastipur, the police department has shown notable improvement in responsiveness, action-taking, and direct communication with the public.

The people are now openly questioning:
“If the SP himself responds to calls, why can’t other officers do the same?”

Citizens are urging District Magistrate Roshan Kushwaha to adopt the same proactive approach and issue strict instructions to all administrative officers to prioritize public calls. Several residents insist that officers who refuse to answer public calls must face disciplinary action.

From villages to urban localities, complaints remain consistent—many civil officials avoid public interaction instead of solving problems.
In such a backdrop, SP Arvind Pratap Singh’s timely intervention has revived public trust in at least one arm of the administration.

The message from Samastipur’s people is loud and clear:
“Administrative arrogance must end. Accountability is the need of the hour. When our SP stands with the public, every department must do the same.”
