The development is significant for India as well because the Indian Army operates the K9 Vajra, the Indian version of the South Korean K9 platform. US Army Begins K9 Evaluation

The U.S. Army is looking for a modern mobile artillery system that can provide long-range fire support while moving rapidly with combat formations. The K9 has been selected to participate in this effort under the Mobile Tactical Cannon program.
